Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Our approach to cookies
Dear Atlas takes a minimal approach to cookies. We believe you should be able to browse and shop without being tracked across the web. We use only the cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function. We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or third-party marketing cookies of any kind.
Because we use only essential cookies, we do not display a cookie consent banner. Under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), consent is not required for cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the website.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites function correctly, provide security features, and remember your preferences. Cookies can be “session” cookies (which are deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” cookies (which remain until they expire or you delete them).
Essential cookies we use
The following cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function. They cannot be disabled.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| __session | Clerk | Authentication session token. Keeps you signed in if you have an account. Not set for guest users. | Session |
| __client_uat | Clerk | Client-side authentication state indicator. Used to determine whether a user is signed in. | Session |
Payment processing cookies
During checkout, our payment processor Stripe may set cookies as part of the secure payment process. These cookies are essential for processing your payment and preventing fraud. They are governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy and are only active during the checkout flow.
Stripe’s cookies are classified as strictly necessary because without them, payment processing cannot function securely.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool that is entirely cookieless. Plausible does not set any cookies, does not collect personal data, does not track you across websites, and does not build profiles of visitors.
Plausible collects only anonymous, aggregated statistics such as page views, referral sources, and country of visitor. All data is processed in the EU and is fully compliant with GDPR, PECR, and CCPA without requiring consent.
This means Dear Atlas has no analytics cookies whatsoever.
What we do not use
Dear Atlas does not use:
- Google Analytics or any Google tracking services
- Facebook Pixel or Meta tracking
- Advertising or retargeting cookies of any kind
- Social media sharing widgets that set cookies
- Third-party analytics cookies
- Cross-site tracking technologies
Managing cookies in your browser
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are set on your device
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific or all websites
- Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is set
Please note that if you block essential cookies, some features of the website may not function correctly (for example, you may not be able to sign in to your account or complete checkout).
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if we introduce new technologies or services that require cookies. We will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page when changes are made.
